My wife and I are very happy we went with Ultimate pools by Fetter for our pool. We talked to a couple of other companies and were impressed by Fetter because they didn’t try to talk us into anything we didn’t want. They were patient with us during our design phase as we started out wanting a spa and water feature and then changing our minds to just getting a pool. At no time did they try to talk us into into getting a particular pebble finish or plaster finish for the interior. Ross was straight forward about what he thought would work best for us and told us the pros and cons for every decision we made. He was great at explaining the process and what to expect each step of the way. Once the pool was complete, they have been great at answering all of our questions about pool chemistry too! We would definitely recommend using them to put in your pool! We went with a French Gray plaster and love the way the water color turned out.

We absolutely love our pool done by Ultimate Pools by Fetter! Ross is by far the most knowledgeable pool contractor out there and we had quotes from 6 different contractors. Ross went above and beyond researching laws to allow us to change our backyard, that other contractors wanted myself to do. He is definitely a step a head of the game at all times. I highly recommend this company to any one thinking about building a pool. Ross was with us a 100% of the way and a phone call away at all times if needed. We will have a lifetime of memories in our backyard due to what Ross created for us.

Fetter did an amazing job building my dad’s pool. They answered all his questions thoroughly and explained to him in detail step by step of the process. The workers are very professional and knowledgeable, they put his worries to ease. The pool itself is so beautiful, my parents love it! 10/10 I’d recommend them!

Frequently Asked Questions
Does rock excavation affect compact pool designs in Copperopolis? +
Yes. Rock can affect where a compact pool can be positioned and what shapes are practical, particularly on lots where subsurface rock is dense or close to the surface. Fetter’s site assessment identifies the realistic design envelope for each property before the design is finalized. On a compact lot with significant rock, positioning and shape decisions matter more than on a clear site.
Can a pool work on a sloped Copperopolis lot? +
Yes. Sloped lots are common in Copperopolis and a well-designed compact pool can be oriented to work with the grade rather than require major earthwork to flatten the site. The design accounts for deck drainage, retaining walls where needed, and how the pool relates to the house and outdoor living areas. Fetter evaluates each lot’s topography during the site assessment.
Are there HOA requirements for compact pools in Copperopolis? +
Most of Copperopolis is unincorporated Calaveras County with no mandatory HOA requirements for pool construction. Specific developments within the area may have their own CC&Rs — homeowners should check their property’s governing documents. The permit process for most Copperopolis properties runs directly through Calaveras County without a city or HOA overlay.
What pool sizes are practical in Copperopolis foothill lots? +
Plunge pools (10 to 14 feet), cocktail pools, and compact geometric designs in the 12-to-16 foot range work well on parcels where the usable flat area is limited or where rock removal is a significant excavation factor. Fetter designs to the realistic envelope of each property based on the site assessment — the right size is the one that fits the specific lot and how the homeowner plans to use the space.
Is a compact pool a good investment in Copperopolis? +
Yes. Copperopolis properties — particularly those around Lake Tulloch and in communities like Saddle Creek — represent a lifestyle investment. A well-built compact pool adds recreational value and genuine property appeal in an area where not every property has one. The site variability in the foothills is exactly why working with a contractor who has built here before matters.
