My wife and I are very happy we went with Ultimate pools by Fetter for our pool. We talked to a couple of other companies and were impressed by Fetter because they didn’t try to talk us into anything we didn’t want. They were patient with us during our design phase as we started out wanting a spa and water feature and then changing our minds to just getting a pool. At no time did they try to talk us into into getting a particular pebble finish or plaster finish for the interior. Ross was straight forward about what he thought would work best for us and told us the pros and cons for every decision we made. He was great at explaining the process and what to expect each step of the way. Once the pool was complete, they have been great at answering all of our questions about pool chemistry too! We would definitely recommend using them to put in your pool! We went with a French Gray plaster and love the way the water color turned out.

Fetter did an amazing job building my dad’s pool. They answered all his questions thoroughly and explained to him in detail step by step of the process. The workers are very professional and knowledgeable, they put his worries to ease. The pool itself is so beautiful, my parents love it! 10/10 I’d recommend them!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do natural rock waterfalls work well in Copperopolis pools? +
Yes — and Copperopolis is one of the places in our service area where they fit most naturally. The Sierra Nevada foothill landscape provides a genuine context for natural stone water features rather than the contrived look they can have on flat Valley properties. On foothill lots with appropriate soil and slope conditions, a rock waterfall is both structurally viable and aesthetically right for the setting.
How does slope affect water feature placement in Copperopolis? +
Slope can work in the design’s favor for waterfall features: a natural grade difference can allow a raised waterfall element without requiring as much additional earthwork. The structural design must account for masonry load on a hillside, and drainage behind the feature needs to be managed carefully on sloped sites. Fetter evaluates each property’s topography and soil conditions during the site assessment before recommending specific feature types.
What water features work for Copperopolis properties with limited flat area? +
Sheer descents and deck jets work well on properties where the usable flat area is limited, because they deliver impact without requiring significant masonry footprint or structural weight. On a compact foothill lot with rock close to the surface, these options often make more sense than a large rock waterfall that would require extensive structural work.
Are there HOA approval requirements for water features in Copperopolis? +
Most of Copperopolis is unincorporated Calaveras County without mandatory HOA requirements. Specific developments may have CC&Rs that govern backyard construction, including water features. Homeowners should check their property’s governing documents. For most Copperopolis properties, water features are permitted through Calaveras County as part of the pool project permit.
Does LED lighting work well with water features in Copperopolis? +
Yes. Evening use is common in Copperopolis — foothill temperatures make outdoor evenings genuinely pleasant across much of the year. LED lighting integrated into or behind water features transforms the evening backyard experience and is one of the highest-impact additions to a foothill pool. The effect of light through a natural rock waterfall or sheer descent at night is particularly strong against a dark foothill sky.
