Pool & Spa

Pool & Spa services in Lathrop and surrounding areas

A pool and spa combination extends the usable season of a Lathrop backyard significantly. Central Valley summers are long and hot, but spring and fall evenings cool quickly — and a spa that heats independently in 30 to 60 minutes makes the backyard functional well beyond swimming season. All Fetter pool and spa installations are plumbed for independent spa heating with smart controls typically included, so the spa can be preheated from a phone before you arrive home without heating the full pool.

In River Islands, a pool and spa combination involves a single HOA architectural review and county permit that covers the full scope. A spillway spa elevated above the pool is the most common integration — it adds visual interest and practical function. Raised masonry on Lathrop’s expansive clay requires structural provisions for seasonal soil movement, and properties near the delta where groundwater is a variable need hydrostatic relief built into the spa shell as well. Fetter’s site assessment identifies both variables and designs for them. The River Islands waterway aesthetic lends itself well to pool and spa designs that feel integrated into an outdoor living space — Fetter designs the complete scope including decking, equipment screening, and water features as a unified package. What Our Customers Say

Four years in and this pool still delivers on every promise made at the start. From the first consultation through swim day, the process was smooth and the crew was great to work with. They built exactly what we envisioned — the right shape, the right features, and a bubbler the kids love. When our pool light went out years later, they replaced it at no charge with a smile. Best decision we ever made.

We absolutely love our pool done by Ultimate Pools by Fetter! Ross is by far the most knowledgeable pool contractor out there and we had quotes from 6 different contractors. Ross went above and beyond researching laws to allow us to change our backyard, that other contractors wanted myself to do. He is definitely a step a head of the game at all times. I highly recommend this company to any one thinking about building a pool. Ross was with us a 100% of the way and a phone call away at all times if needed. We will have a lifetime of memories in our backyard due to what Ross created for us.

My wife and I are very happy we went with Ultimate pools by Fetter for our pool. We talked to a couple of other companies and were impressed by Fetter because they didn’t try to talk us into anything we didn’t want. They were patient with us during our design phase as we started out wanting a spa and water feature and then changing our minds to just getting a pool. At no time did they try to talk us into into getting a particular pebble finish or plaster finish for the interior. Ross was straight forward about what he thought would work best for us and told us the pros and cons for every decision we made. He was great at explaining the process and what to expect each step of the way. Once the pool was complete, they have been great at answering all of our questions about pool chemistry too! We would definitely recommend using them to put in your pool! We went with a French Gray plaster and love the way the water color turned out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does River Islands HOA review cover the spa as well as the pool? +
Yes. River Islands HOA architectural review covers the complete scope of backyard construction — pool, spa, fencing, equipment placement and screening, and other features. Fetter includes all elements in the HOA submittal package so the full project is reviewed in a single submission.
How does groundwater affect raised spa construction in Lathrop? +
Properties near the delta where groundwater is a variable require hydrostatic relief provisions in the spa shell, just as in the pool shell. Raised spa features also place additional load on expansive clay, which requires proper drainage and structural support at the base. Fetter designs for both conditions at every property where they apply.
Can the spa be used independently from the pool in Lathrop? +
Yes. Fetter plumbs all pool and spa installations for independent spa heating. The spa reaches usable temperature in 30 to 60 minutes without heating the full pool. Equipment typically includes smart control access from a smartphone app for remote preheat before arriving home.
Does Lathrop’s climate support year-round spa use? +
Yes. The Central Valley’s long hot summers give way to mild winters — Lathrop rarely sees extended cold stretches that would make spa use uncomfortable. Spring and fall evenings cool quickly, and the spa covers those months well. Efficient heating equipment and good insulation keep operating costs reasonable year-round.
Is a pool and spa a good fit for River Islands? +
Yes. River Islands’ waterway-oriented design and community aesthetic support the kind of complete outdoor living space that a pool and spa combination represents. The HOA review process is an added step, but community design standards also mean that what gets built tends to hold its quality well. Fetter manages the full HOA and county approval process on every River Islands project.
