Fetter did an amazing job building my dad’s pool. They answered all his questions thoroughly and explained to him in detail step by step of the process. The workers are very professional and knowledgeable, they put his worries to ease. The pool itself is so beautiful, my parents love it! 10/10 I’d recommend them!

My wife and I are very happy we went with Ultimate pools by Fetter for our pool. We talked to a couple of other companies and were impressed by Fetter because they didn’t try to talk us into anything we didn’t want. They were patient with us during our design phase as we started out wanting a spa and water feature and then changing our minds to just getting a pool. At no time did they try to talk us into into getting a particular pebble finish or plaster finish for the interior. Ross was straight forward about what he thought would work best for us and told us the pros and cons for every decision we made. He was great at explaining the process and what to expect each step of the way. Once the pool was complete, they have been great at answering all of our questions about pool chemistry too! We would definitely recommend using them to put in your pool! We went with a French Gray plaster and love the way the water color turned out.

Frequently Asked Questions
What setback applies to compact pools in Lathrop? +
San Joaquin County requires a 3-foot structural setback from the property line for the pool shell. On compact lots, this constraint defines the design envelope early. River Islands HOA may add further requirements on top of county minimums. Fetter verifies all applicable setbacks during the site assessment before design begins.
Do small pools in River Islands still require HOA approval? +
Yes. River Islands HOA architectural review applies to all pool projects regardless of size. Fencing, equipment placement, setback compliance, and design compatibility are all evaluated. A compact pool still requires a complete, properly prepared submittal. Fetter prepares that documentation as part of the standard project process.
What pool shapes work well in smaller Lathrop backyards? +
Geometric pools use limited space most efficiently and work well within HOA design standards. Plunge pools and cocktail pools deliver recreational use in a compact footprint. Integrated spa designs add year-round functionality without significant additional space. Fetter reviews the realistic options for each specific lot based on dimensions, setbacks, and HOA standards.
Does groundwater affect compact pool design in Lathrop? +
Yes, if it’s present at the specific property. Groundwater requires hydrostatic relief provisions regardless of pool size — the structural risk is the same. Fetter assesses groundwater conditions at each property during the site visit and designs accordingly.
Is a pool a good investment in a smaller Lathrop backyard? +
Yes. Lathrop’s Central Valley climate means long, hot summers with consistent pool weather from May through October. A well-designed compact pool on a Lathrop lot adds genuine recreational value and meaningful property appeal. The approval process — county permit, and HOA review for River Islands homeowners — adds steps, but Fetter manages those processes as part of the standard project.
