Four years in and this pool still delivers on every promise made at the start. From the first consultation through swim day, the process was smooth and the crew was great to work with. They built exactly what we envisioned — the right shape, the right features, and a bubbler the kids love. When our pool light went out years later, they replaced it at no charge with a smile. Best decision we ever made.

My wife and I are very happy we went with Ultimate pools by Fetter for our pool. We talked to a couple of other companies and were impressed by Fetter because they didn’t try to talk us into anything we didn’t want. They were patient with us during our design phase as we started out wanting a spa and water feature and then changing our minds to just getting a pool. At no time did they try to talk us into into getting a particular pebble finish or plaster finish for the interior. Ross was straight forward about what he thought would work best for us and told us the pros and cons for every decision we made. He was great at explaining the process and what to expect each step of the way. Once the pool was complete, they have been great at answering all of our questions about pool chemistry too! We would definitely recommend using them to put in your pool! We went with a French Gray plaster and love the way the water color turned out.

Mountain House, CA
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the HOA review work for pool construction in Mountain House? +
Every Mountain House neighborhood HOA requires architectural review before pool construction can begin. The review evaluates fencing style and materials, equipment placement and screening, setback compliance, and overall design compatibility with community standards. Fetter prepares the complete submittal package — site plan, design drawings, equipment and fencing details — and works with homeowners to navigate the review process before moving to county permit submission.
Is groundwater a concern during pool excavation in Mountain House? +
Based on Fetter’s experience building across the Mountain House area over nearly 40 years, groundwater has not been encountered during pool excavation here. This is a meaningful difference from some other cities in our service area where west-side groundwater is a documented variable. It removes one of the more costly structural provisions that those projects require.
What permits are required for pool construction in Mountain House? +
Pool permits in Mountain House are issued through San Joaquin County via electronic submittal. HOA architectural approval is a separate requirement for every neighborhood and must be obtained alongside or before the county permit process. Because Mountain House was incorporated only in July 2024, permit processing timelines are still being established. Fetter handles the county permit process and advises on HOA submittal preparation for every project.
Why does Fetter recommend pebble or quartz finishes in Mountain House? +
Mountain House’s water supply is hard — the Byron-Bethany Irrigation District delivers water with mineral content high enough to accelerate degradation of traditional plaster finishes. Pebble aggregate and quartz aggregate surfaces hold up significantly better in these conditions, last longer, and require less corrective maintenance. For Mountain House pools, the finish upgrade is a practical long-term investment, not just an aesthetic one.
Does Fetter build with gunite in Mountain House? +
Yes. Fetter builds exclusively with gunite — pneumatically applied concrete that achieves excellent structural density and can be applied in the thickness that Mountain House’s expansive clay conditions require. Fetter does not install fiberglass or above-ground pools. Gunite’s structural adaptability is one reason it performs well in the expansive soil conditions present throughout Mountain House.
