My wife and I are very happy we went with Ultimate pools by Fetter for our pool. We talked to a couple of other companies and were impressed by Fetter because they didn’t try to talk us into anything we didn’t want. They were patient with us during our design phase as we started out wanting a spa and water feature and then changing our minds to just getting a pool. At no time did they try to talk us into into getting a particular pebble finish or plaster finish for the interior. Ross was straight forward about what he thought would work best for us and told us the pros and cons for every decision we made. He was great at explaining the process and what to expect each step of the way. Once the pool was complete, they have been great at answering all of our questions about pool chemistry too! We would definitely recommend using them to put in your pool! We went with a French Gray plaster and love the way the water color turned out.

We absolutely love our pool done by Ultimate Pools by Fetter! Ross is by far the most knowledgeable pool contractor out there and we had quotes from 6 different contractors. Ross went above and beyond researching laws to allow us to change our backyard, that other contractors wanted myself to do. He is definitely a step a head of the game at all times. I highly recommend this company to any one thinking about building a pool. Ross was with us a 100% of the way and a phone call away at all times if needed. We will have a lifetime of memories in our backyard due to what Ross created for us.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a pool and spa worth it in Oakdale's climate? +
Oakdale’s July average of 102.8 degrees makes a pool genuinely practical from May through October. A heated spa extends that to year-round use — fall and winter evenings in the Central Valley are mild enough for a spa to get consistent use. Many Fetter clients say the spa gets used more consistently year-round than the pool itself.
How does Oakdale's soil affect raised spa designs? +
East-side Oakdale hard pan is generally well suited to the additional load that raised spa and masonry designs place on surrounding soil. Older neighborhoods with clay-heavy soils require more attention to drainage around raised features. Fetter’s site assessment confirms bearing capacity and drainage conditions before any raised feature is structurally designed.
Can a pool and spa fit on a smaller lot in Oakdale's newer neighborhoods? +
Yes. Spillway spa designs work particularly well on compact lots because the spa sits above the pool rather than beside it at grade — adding functionality without requiring significant additional yard space. Fetter designs many pool and spa combinations for newer Central Valley neighborhoods where lot sizes are tighter.
Can the spa and pool be heated separately? +
Yes. All Fetter pool and spa installations are plumbed to allow the spa to heat independently. The spa reaches temperature in approximately 30 to 60 minutes without heating the entire pool. Equipment is sized for efficient operation in Central Valley conditions and typically includes smartphone app control.
Is equipment placement difficult for pool and spa systems in Oakdale? +
Oakdale generally offers more flexibility for equipment placement than many surrounding cities, based on Fetter’s experience. This makes it easier to position the additional equipment a pool-and-spa system requires — heater, additional pump circuits — in locations that are both functional and unobtrusive.
